9/6/2023 0 Comments Sunset key cottages key west![]() Food options are poolside or Latitudes, so a quick service option or even an ice cream place would be nice. I'm not sure if we'd return honestly for the money spent. We enjoyed ourselves and even my anxious teen was able to really relax here. We stayed for a week, which seems most people don't. Very rocky and we didn't bother after day 2. As with most places in KW, the beach is disappointing. We were here during spring break and there were a lot of kids at the pool. The layout was great with 2 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Our cottage was newly renovated and was gorgeous. Staff is amazing! It was so nice to come back on the ferry to this picture perfect resort. The resort itself is immaculate and the grounds are very well kept. It was beautiful, it was peaceful and we will definitely come back to Sunset Key, highly recommend!… My husband and I also used the fitness room every morning, we were usually the only ones. You can only take the ferry from KW to Sunset if you are a hotel guest of have a reservation at Latitude's which was nice, absolutely no extra people on the island. Latitude's was absolutely beautiful and yummy. We ordered food from Flippers a couple of times and had one lunch and one dinner at Latitude's. I was worried that the pool would be too warm since its so hot in KW but they keep it cool enough that it was refreshing on a hot day. We saw sting rays and jellyfish swimming around us which my kids thought was pretty cool. We brought water shoes and some of us used them and some of us didn't. As other reviewers have stated, the beach is rocky and that is true but it didn't stop us from enjoying it. Some days we were the only ones out there on the beach but it was wonderful. Key West resorts in general don't really offer beachfront access so the fact that Sunset had a private beach is what sold us. ![]() Key West is a busy and happening place and Sunset Key is a relaxing lowkey paradise which was just what we were looking for. Types are probably the most powerful, and least-utilized, feature of ExpertGPS. If you're a geocacher, use the Import Geocaches command on the Geocaching menu to get started. Geocaches are a special form of waypoints used to find hidden "treasures". ![]() Otherwise, you can use the Geotagging feature in ExpertGPS to position them. They're similar to waypoints, but they don't get sent to your GPS.ĮxpertGPS can display your camera's JPEG photos right on the map, in the exact location where they were taken. Notes are text annotations you can place on the map. You can convert back and forth between shapes and tracks, if you need to send a specific shape to your GPS. If you import data from shapefiles or CAD drawings, all of your polyline and polygon data will be imported as shapes. Shapes don't have GPS time or speed data associated with them, so they take up less memory. If you simply want to draw a line or a polygon on the map, use a shape. Shapes are similar to tracks, except they don't get sent to your GPS. You can also trace trails off of the maps in ExpertGPS and send them to your GPS as tracks to be followed. Tracks are GPS tracklogs (breadcrumb trails) that show exactly where you went while carrying your GPS. Routes are typically used by hikers or sailors to navigate to a destination. Routes are a series of GPS waypoints that define a path to follow.ĮxpertGPS is not turn-by-turn street routing software, so the legs between points of the route follow straight-line paths (as the crow flies). Waypoints are points that can be sent to or from your GPS receiver. Instead, ExpertGPS (or any other program that supports GPX) will display your data over your choice of background maps. GPX files store GPS waypoints, routes, and tracks, and any line or polygon data you import from other programs. Your data is stored in GPX files, while the maps are managed behind the scenes by ExpertGPS, and stored on your hard drive.
